Recently, BCEG's Aid Cote d'Ivoire Abidjan Olympic Stadium Project has won 2019-2020 gold medal of Structural Great Wall Cup Award for high engineering quality.
The project is located in Anyama district of Northern Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, 18 kilometers far from city center, covering 20 hectares with a total covered area of approximately 60,000 square meters. And it is an EPC project. When completed, the stadium is able to accommodate 60,000 spectators.
This is the largest foreign aid project of the Chinese government after the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, and also the largest foreign aid project in BCEG's history. The stadium will become one of the most modernized comprehensive stadiums in Africa.
Due to the limited construction period and poor climate, it brought great challenges to the construction of the steel structure, however, all the personnel did not give up and made great effort to overcome the difficulties. Through improving the management system, carefully organizing the construction and strictly controlling the quality, the quality of the project finally met the standard of Structural Great Wall Cup.
As the largest comprehensive stadium project in West Africa, winning the prize encouraged and affirmed the work of all staffs in the past two years. Meanwhile, it also brought confidence to the follow-up work. All members of the project department said they will continue to work hard in terms of the construction management and quality control. It aims to create a landmark excellent project and lay a solid foundation for the sprint of Luban Award.
